Our family stopped at 82 Queen for our final meal on our family vacation. We had the wonderful opportunity to sit out in the courtyard under beautiful tree cover and experience one of the best patios in Charleston. This is my second time dining at 82 Queen and it was so good the first time that we decided to bring the family here on our next vacation. The service was splendid each time we came here. Try taking a walk through the restaurant to enjoy the rich history and decor of the buildings. We happen to order the flounder BLT each time we were down here and it is very delicious. There is quite a bit of food so be prepared and be hungry. I ordered the barbecue shrimp and grits. It was good however, I am not a huge fan of the barbecue on the shrimp compared to other shrimp and grits meals. Our family ordered the southern Pickens appetizer. It was underwhelming, as it was about half pickled veggies. The deviled eggs were probably the favorite and the kids did not even eat the pita chips. I would not order this again, but would try something different like the fried green tomatoes. Overall, this restaurant is a big hit. I recommend it to anybody coming to Charleston to dine here and try to sit outside.

THIS IS THE BEST BRUNCH IN CHARLESTON! Okay, I may only be a frequent traveler to Charleston and not a resident, but I found out about 82 Queen from a local. A recommendation I'm so thankful for lol. Right off King Street, sits this large dining spot. My friends and I had a brunch reservation during the busy graduation/Mother's Day weekend. We were seated right away on the second floor of the building (wby way of a tour through the stunning outdoor seating area). Our server, Miles, was passionate and very knowledgeable of the menu. We took up his suggestion of ordering the Fried Green Tomatoes as an app. 1000% recommend. For my entree, I thoroughly enjoyed the Crab Cake Benedict.

Do I recommend this business? Absolutely!!! Between the jambalaya, gumbo, and crabcakes, I could not have asked for a more delectable dinner. This business does not deserve 4.1 on Yelp. This is definitely a 5.0+! We also ordered a bottle of Altos, 2022 Malbec from Argentina. I highly recommend the wine. Our waiter, Les, was very knowledgeable and friendly. I hope we get him again when we come back. Ambiance: Very Charleston feel. A little hot in the summer evening eating in the open, but with the fans it was pleasant. I can see why the restaurant has been here for 23 years. Normally, you finish the meal before commenting. I actually called the manager over to tell him how great it was before I finish the meal.

It was good. The ambiance was the highest point of our visit . Plus , the service was very good. Our waiter was attentive, kind, and nice. The food was solid good. However, it wasn't outstanding as we would expect for such a reputable place and high prices. It was good to visit for the experience. We ended up with the bill of $270 for the appetizer, a cup of soup , salad , cocktails, and two main dishes , plus kids meal for 2 adults and a kid. Since this restaurant is highly recommended by locals , I would give it a shot to make your own opinion about it.

I like this family owned restaurant quite a bit. It's split into two parts. A very nice bar area and a typical restaurant seating area. We sat at the bar because we just wanted to have a quick drink and snack. Service was friendly but a tad slow on acknowledging our arrival. I love the ambience of the space. Dark with the feel of a neighborhood bar but in an upper middle class neighborhood for a few decades ago. Well maintained. Liquor options were rather boring . Pedestrian. However, they did make a very good cocktail. I had a crabcake appetizer, which was very good but not exceptional.

We had such a great experience at 82 Queen while spending time downtown for the Spoleto Festival. Had drinks at the bar before dinner at 5:00. Had wonderful seats outdoors on a glorious Saturday in Charleston. Whit was our waiter and he was personable, fun and very attentive. He elevated our experience with his exceptional service and fun personality. Everything we ate was delicious... from appetizers to our entree of crab cakes! Highly recommend 82 Queen... and ask for Whit!

Happy we were able to snag an early dinner spot here, outside, with no reservations! This was our first chance during our trip to try some classic Charleston meals - we got the she crab soup, calamari, and fried tomato. My friend and I are both New Englanders, and love our clam chowder and calamari. We really enjoyed the flavors and creaminess of the she crab soup!! The calamari had a good texture. I loved everything about the fried green tomato - the jam and pimento added vibrant flavors, and the grits were delicious. Definitely understand why this restaurant is so often recommended :)

This was a great, last minute decision! We were searching for lunch. The line at Poogan's porch was so long and this restaurant had okay reviews so we decided to try it! We are so glad we did! The host stand is down an alley so it's a little hard to find but so worth it. We sat upstairs and based on server recommendations and limited availability of the soft shell crab we spilt a soft shell carb sandwich and had the tomato pie. Both were very good, fresh piping hot and not in need of any additional seasonings! We didn't sample as many things as usual because we had dinner reservations for "earlier " in the evening but we will be back for sure to try more on their menu. This is a charming house converted to a restaurant. It's lovely and I'm sure dinner here is also a pretty sight to see. The weather was rainy so we couldn't but I think a meal out on the patio would be charming.
